«Dull electios in Russia»: emigrant and russophobe writes for Bloomberg (PHOTOS) | Русская весна

July 8 2016 American Bloomberg published the article titled Russia Has the Most Boring Election of 2016.

The author is profusing in compliments for American and European political systes calling US election campaing and Bitish referendum “thrilling spectacles” and the latest Austrian presidential elections – “cliffhanger”.

The coming parlamentary election in Russia is called «dull» and «bring», the next State Duma cast is called “ as docile as the last one” in advance.

«Putin… wants a clear, convincing victory and a parliament filled with loyalists or representatives of tried and tested parties that have long traded any principles for the benefits of official recognition, public funding and a chance to make money from industry lobbyists.

And that is exactly what Putin will get, despite some rather cynical attempts to make the race look real», — he claims in his article.

Before we look closer at obvious faults and shadow processes of the American poitics let’s take a closer look at the author whose origin, biography and work record are quite interesting.

Big expert on Russia — «dissapointment emigrant»

The author of this article is an ethnic Russian Leonid Bershidsky.

Bershidsky was born in Moscow in 1971. After he had dropped studies at Moscow State Uiversity of Linguistics he moved to the USA where he entered UCLA but did not graduate either and eturned to Russia in 1993.

His further career at home was quite successful thogh it was connected with the so called liberal media: he participated in launching Russian editions of Newsweek and Forbes, was the first editor-in-chief of «Vedomosti» newspaper and then — co-owner and editor-in-chief Slon.

Besides he occupied a position of managing director of “KIT finance” bank since 2007 till 2008, he was appointed editorial director of “Eksmo” publishing house in 2010 where he published his books: in particular «Crisis in the ass» and the novels «Rembrandt must die», «Diabolic trills, or Stradvari's ordeal», «Eight Faberges». In his fifth book “A Craft” published in 2013 he told about journalism.

Then Bershidsky moved to Kiev and started Ukrainian period of his life: he paricipated in launching Ukrainian edition of Forbes, leaves Eksmo publishing house.

He was still published by Russian media, in particular he was a columnist at Snob.ru. Then he decided to leave Russia for good in 2014.

He described it as “Dissapointment Emigration”:

«Since 1993 when I returned to Moscow after leaving California University… I have been dreaming about Russia entering European Union… After annexation of Crimea it became clear to me that Albania, Turkey and Ukraine entered EU sonner that Russia.

Then I decided to enter EU on my own. I am moving to Berlin tomorrow…

Because I do not want to pay for Crimea. It is stolen. Though I will keep Russian citizenship», — told Bershidsky.

After he moved to Berlin he became Bloomberg observer but he kept on writing about Russia. Making money on West’s Russophobic stance is so easy.

Let’s see what he wrote for Bloomberg in June and July 2016.

It is not only Brexit he writes about but also Russia — problems of Russia, drawbacks of Russia, Russian wilderness and of course Vladimir Putin whom Bershidsky loathes.

Here are some titles: «Russia is not dying from а Brain Drain», «Putin’s European allies dn’t need his money», «All Russians are tained by Putin’s regime», «The Orthodox Church stays in the Dark Ages».

Об «идеальной» избирательной системе в США

If Bershidsky opposes Russian elections to the American ones let us have a closer look at them.

The author twists the fact that Russian elections in 2012 became more transparent with the help of videostreaming from all polling stations: that is because «Putin wants obvious clear victory».

It’s high time to recall intrigues and scandals are accompanying presidential races in the United States adored by Bershidsky.

The institute of presidential electors has serious drawback becaus when a candidate loses in some state with even tiny tenth of a procent receives any votes from this state at all.

Needless to say that direct and general elections like in Russia and many oher countries are closer to the concept of democracy in its original meaning.

Votes counting procedure in the USA is a repeating reason why candidate with less quantity of supporters became president of the country.

This happened in 2000 when Albert Gore lost to Bush Junior with only 5 votes when he had half a million more popular votes.

It woud be nice to remember that the 43th PoTUS George Bush Jr. is the 41st President’s son. And his younger brother Jeb Bush took part in the latest presidential race with no prominent results.

One should also remember that this campaign’s favourite Hillary Clinton has ben the first lady of America for 8 years.

Former preident Bill Clinton uses all his political ties to help Hillary out of a scandal connected with using private e-mail for official correspondence (including classified infomation) when he was Secretary of State in 2009-2013.

In the beginning of July 2016 the USA were shaken by tha scandal when media foundout about Bill Clnton’s informal meeting with Attorney General Loretta Lynch. The circumstances of the meeting were rather strange.

Ex-president was waiting for Lynch’s plane to arrive in Phoenix (Arizona) for almost an hour. Then there was a private talk onboard  Lynche’s plane and was guarded from any press.

But of course everybody thought that Clinton was persuading Lynch not to issue legal proceedings against his wife. Well, Hillary is not only aflost but a favourite of the presidential race though any other candidate would lose his polotical career forever after such a scandal.

Well it’spretty obvious that political system and electoral process in the USA are far from that “ideal of democracy” the Russophobes are trying to draw for us.
