Russia’s 26th convoy with humanitarian aid for Donbass has arrived at the border, the national crisis situations management center of Russia’s Emergencies Ministry said on Thursday.

The trucks are entering border checkpoints where customs procedures are carried out in the presence of the monitors of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) mission.

"The Russian Emergencies Ministry's convoy, which left the Donskoy rescue center early in the morning, was divided into two parts while on its way. One of them arrived at the Donetsk checkpoint, while the other at the Matveyev-Kurgan where the customs procedures for the cargos have started," a ministry official said. Later, the vehicles are due to travel to the war-torn Lugansk and Donetsk regions.

More than 100 trucks are carrying some 1,100 tonnes of humanitarian aid for the Donbas citizens, including foodstuffs, essentials, construction materials and textbooks for students. Since mid-August 2014, Russia's humanitarian convoys have delivered to Donbas about 33,000 tonnes of aid.
