The state of Ukraine as we used to know it died on 2 May 2014 together with the murdered people: about 3 000 ultra right activists are currently terrorising Odessa

“Odessa Communion” civil rights group leaders Denis Jatsjuk and Dmitrij Odinov addressed the public on 7 May 2014 delivering the following message :

“Dear compatriots, brothers, Odessa public !

As sad and unfortunate as it is, an undeniable fact is : civil war is running in Odessa presently.

While we did try our best to sustain opinion expressing within legal and civil grounds, avoiding all paramilitary means, as you are all well aware, our opponents - the ultra-right nazis of “Pravyj Sektor” - crossed the line to turn out aggressively militarised as they planned and executed the first armed paramilitary mass murder strike in Odessa causing numerous casualties. Please accept our deepest condolences.

We hereby would like to warn all citizen : please exercise extreme caution in day-to-day interactions, especially when you encounter any enticing for any reason. Our information suggests that approximate number of ultra-right activists currently terrorising Odessa is 3 000, and we expect the number of provocations from these to escalate, more so as we approach the 9th of May - the Victory Day. There will later be more details on what to expect in Odessa for the 9th of May. For now, we can say that appropriate preparations have to commence to come on par with our opponents.

We have no intention to quietly take losses and will ensure that the criminals who organised and executed mass murders in Odessa on 2 May will be brought to justice as appropriate.
